Hi! Our recent order of Dance Music 1915-19 and 1921 CDs has been received in perfect condition and we are very pleased. You've done a great job on the sound reproduction! Many thanks to you, the CDs even arrived in time for our local Blueberry Parade, much to the delight of all! We will use your recordings in coordination with brass era antique automobile events including tours, shows and parades. The music sets a wonderful atmosphere, it's like being back in the 1900s! One older lady actually dabbed away tears and said it had been so long since she had heard a Victrola - could we possibly play the Charleston? Thanks, Mark, your recordings add the perfect touch to these old car events! Sincerely, Lou

Dear Mark,
Yesterday my 4 CDs of music from 1908-'13 arrived safely and in good shape. Thanks for taking the extra care in the packing and shipping of these wonderful treasures.

I grew up with a crank-up Victrola, Brunswick & Edison record playing machines, and all of the music that came with them when new. I still have the machines and most of the records from 1900-1941 (with a score of single-sided platters). Of course, as you know, playing the records uses up their "Life", even when faithfully changing the needles after playing three sides. And too, getting a steady supply of needles had become a pain. Moreover, getting up to change the records every three minutes or so, is a nuisance that requires patience and appreciation of the "process".

So it is with GREAT joy that I stumbled onto your website - there to find salvation to all the hassle of playing my own 78 rpm (80 rpm in Edison's case) records from this early period - 100 years ago ! ! !

Now the I've "gotten my feet wet" with your website and excellent service, I shall want to revisit your website and peruse your library of additional treasures, for future purchase.

Thanks again for all of your effort in working to preserve this obscure and remote piece of inter-active social history. May God keep and bless you,

Mark:
As you requested in your letter, I am sending you a note to tell you that I received the Victorian Christmas Music CD yesterday. What a great job you did on the sound! If you need any recommendations, you can use me. I will tell others that they will not be disappointed in this CD. It does not lose the essence of the older recordings even though the sound is clean and very listenable even to my raised-on-stereo ears.

I eventually did find on 78 all of the songs I wanted and listed below, but I'm sure I would enjoy your versions much more than the hack job I will do putting them on CD!

Again, thanks for making these treasures available in a current format that captures the spirit of the originals.

Gregory

Hi Mark!

I was thrilled to receive this today, and am now enjoyiing it in preparation for work on my children's novel (which is set in 1913, hence my interest in old-time music.) I love it! It really sounds like an old-time Victrola, just what my characters would be listening to in 1913 -- very inspiring and just the thing to get me 'in the mood' to sink into my story.

I will definitely order more as funds allow. My next interest is WW I, so I'll be ordering tunes from that era as soon as I can. I especially appreciate the care with which the CD was packaged -- excellent! I am very impressed with the product. I'll try to stop by the site and give you my comments.Best Wishes,

Look forward to dealing with you soon!

Best regards,
Elizabeth Barnesco

Hi Mark!

Just wanted to let you know that the Victorian Christmas CD arrived safely. Very nicely done, I thought. I don't think I've ever heard material of this era remastered any better than you have done here. I'm always very interested to see what these "non-commercial" (in the best sense) reissues are like. The ones done as a labor of love are easy to spot.

Best Wishes,
Don Leighty

Dear Mark:
I wanted you to know I received the CD tonight, just in the nick of time for our trip to Mexico to celebrate my Mom's 85th birthday. I have searched for this one song for more than two years, even in Ireland and never found "Come back to Erin" anywhere else. Thanks so much. It will mean a great deal to my Mom.

Hello Mark,

I just want to confirm that I have received the three CD:s with marches today. Just now I'm listening to Arthur Pryor's Band and I'm really impressed by the splendid technical quality that gives the old sound a new life without disturbing noise and still preserving the old musical feeling.

Kindly
Hans

Dear Mark,

My Victorian Christmas Music CD arrived yesterday. Thank you for the prompt delivery! I am so happy to have found your web site, because I no longer own a record player (shame on me), and could never find these early recordings on CD at my local record stores. Thank you for making these recordings accessible to music lovers everywhere! I will definitely be spreading the word, as well as ordering more from you in the future.

Best Regards,
Regina Cortright

Hello, and many *many* thanks for the super-fast delivery of the Uncle Josh CD. It's a 60th Anniversary present for my parents, who remember those old Victrola recordings fondly. They'll be pleasantly surprised by this collection!

I will absolutely check out more of the offerings on your website. So glad to see these recordings being preserved in CD format. It looks like a painstaking process, but I'm sure it's a labor of love. Thanks for doing it!

Cheers,
--Jean Graham

Dear Mark, I received the CD "Dance Tunes 1913-1917" in good order. I very much appreciate your service and hope to enhance my own collections. I have a very large collection of early 1900's printed band (small orchestra) pieces of theater and concert band music. With your collections, I now can hear what these things actually sounded like before my group attempts them. Thanks again!

Jon Peters - Band Leader

Dear Mark, I apologize for the delay informing you that I received your shipment of, Cal Stewart's Uncle Josh CD. WOW! What a thrill to hear that infectious laugh again! I am only 45 yrs. old but we use to listen to my Grandmas'old Victrola and by far our favorites we Uncle Josh. She had two recordings of him, One was "Uncle Josh and the Honey Bees" / "Uncle Josh in the Cafeteria". I can't remember the selections that were on the other record. One other record I remember that we liked was, "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition". I had been trying to buy various recordings of Cal Stewart off of EBay but wasn't quite aggressive enough to get the bid. Hope to see another CD offered of his from your company in the future! I have an original book published by RCA from 1921 with their recordings offered that year, and there are 36 records by Cal Stewart. I also recall an article from the Indiana Historical Society that stated Cal Stewart was laid to rest in a cemetery in the north half of our state.I'm not sure what town, but we are proud to have partial claim to this early comedic artist! Best wishes an success with your endeavor to help preserve these old recordings!

Mark--Thanks--the tapes are great & I will refer people to you. Just a short personal story--when I was in 7/8th grade, catholic grammer school in Holyoke, MA., some 60 yrs ago (I am 75), the nuns would have us put on shows for families/friends. I would have the lead part because they thought I had a good voice. Anyway, we put on, for several performances, a World War 1 skit in which our group acted out & I sang "Just before the battle, Mother" & dying song "Just break the news to Mother" Am told that many in the audiences cried, & I never forgot the event or the songs. I looked for words/music for years. Took me about 60 years to get to your recordings! Thank God for your efforts & the computer. Listening to these tapes will provide this old guy with hours of pleasure/memories.

God bless us all---- Your new friend Bert LaBarre

Dear Mark, I am simply thrilled with the two cd's you sent. If you have the time, I will tell you how important they are to me: We have a summer cabin on a lake in northern Minnesota. Until I was five years old or so (and I am now an ancient 55), we had a Victrola and several "records" which we used to play on special occasions. When I was five or so, the Victrola broke, was disposed of along with the records. We would listen to these songs as a family. Now my father is spending what will be his last summer at our cabin. I so wanted to find Victrola recordings of some of the old songs for him. I can't think of anything he will enjoy more than hearing some of these super oldies. Thank you so much! I haven't heard any of these songs since I was five, so could only remember a few of them. One of the ones we all used to love I was unable to find on your list. I don't know the title of the song, just the words: "When it's peach pickin' time in Delaware, I'll be there, I'll be there." Don't go to any work, but if you have any idea what this song is, and if you have it, would you let me know?

Thanks a million.
Edith Davis

Mark, I Got the cd's from my last order in good shape. They are of your usual high quality. Keep up the good work.

Hi Mark, the Uncle Josh cd arrived and it was like being reunited with a long-lost family member, not having heard any Uncle Josh records since l967. You produce a first-class product and I will indeed be ordering more soon.

Thanks again,
Joe Clack

I received the Harry Lauder CD today and I am thrilled. My grandfather came to the US from Scotland in 1922 after serving in the war and he used to sing these songs to my mother when she was young. She had been looking for Wee Hoose Mang The Heather for years, and when she heard it, she cried. It really meant a lot to her. So thank you very much for making a great Mother's Day!

Sincerely,
Carol Lynn Callaghan

I meant to write you to let you know that my order came through very quickly--- your service was excellent and the CDs are fantastic! Sorry it took me so long to Respond.

Today I received the music scores in good order--and I do appreciate the speedy delivery.

We are working on an exhibit about the Underground Railroad for a history center in New Albany, Indiana. The exhibit is being created as an interactive DVD, and we will be producing our own music. Although I already had some of the other songs, you turned out to be the only place we could find the music for Sweet Canaan. We were getting desperate. Thanks for being there--I'll visit your homepage ASAP and leave kind words.

Mark - I am a Board Member for a 1883 Victorian Home/Museum in Chico, CA (Northern California). We wanted "Authentic" music as background for our upcoming fund-raising Ice Cream Social. Thanks for sending "Old Time Gospel Hymns #3" It was the best reproduction of my grandfather's (Oscar Seagle) singing that I have heard.
